Flags of our Fathers?

Is this what the war for American Independence was fought for?

Walking through Downtown Denver today I noted the remarkable, newly constructed Hyatt Hotel. This building is truly a testament to architecture of its time. Regardless, I was ominously disturbed to see:

the United States flag, flying side by side with the Colorado State flag, flying side by side with the….Hyatt flag?!?

I think that this is a clear sign that we need to be concerned about the role of corporations in this country…

Agree with the premise that this country has become too commercialized! I am a big sports fan and HATE that all the stadium’s names can be bought. I remember when the name of a stadium was always in honor of someone who had contributed greatly to the sport or school etc. I am though, going to give a big plug to the Hyatt-without the historic organizing of the workers there and the Hyatt’s excellent collective bargaining agreement it would have been far less likely that Denver would have been chosen as the host city for the DNC.

I didn’t know that Hyatt had agreed to collective bargaining and are now paying living wages. That is good news!
